Helpful or Hurtful?

In choosing a desk, you are faced with a lot of questions: what brand, ergonomic or normal, the height, and the color. The color of the desk is actually more important than you would realize.
Desks have such a wide variety of color nowadays; it’s hard to choose a color! You want to make sure the color you use isn’t too harsh for your eyes. You could be working at this desk for hours on end and you don’t want to choose a neon yellow or bright red; it’s too distracting. The best colors you want to choose are neutral tones. You can still focus on your tasks you need to complete without straining your eyes on the bright colors. Or, if you are a person that loves color, you can still get color! You just want to stay away from bright colors, toned-down colors or pastels are still better for your eyes than an aqua blue. You want to make sure you choose the right color for you.

Can Bad Posture Affect Your Breathing?

Everybody knows that bad posture is one of the leading causes for back pain, but did you know it can also affect your breathing? Nowadays, we spend so much time crouched over a computer either at work or at home on the Internet. Eventually, a hunch will start to develop. When you hunch over, you’re airways tend to close. For example, have you ever been sitting down and tried to breathe? It’s significantly different than if you were sitting up straight. When you aren’t breathing correctly, then your vital organs are lacking the oxygen they need to fully function. Now, I’m not saying bad posture can cause you to stop breathing or kill you’re kidneys; but some of the symptoms associated with bad breathing are pains in your hands, feet and muscles, dizziness, shortness of breath, pins and needles, pain over the heart and shaking.  Bad posture affects so much, especially your breathing.

Importance of Posture: Kids

Kids are sponges. They retain so much that you need to insert good life skills into them while they are still impressionable. Posture is such an important thing to know about while you’re young. Kids don’t understand why they should sit up straight or walk without their shoulder shrugged forward. They will find out sooner in life when they start to get back and neck pain before they hit 20. If kids develop good posture at a young age, it will follow them into adulthood without them even noticing. Doing little things such as sitting straight or getting a posture desk will help reduce body aches and joint pains.
